Welcome to Clinton, Ma. Clinton, incorporated as a town in 1850. The town is 35 miles west of Boston, with a population of approximately 13,500 residents living within its seven square miles. The highways that cross the town - Routes 62, 70 and 110 along with nearby Interstates 190 and 495 - connect Clinton to the large cities of Worcester, 13 miles south and Fitchburg, 16 miles north. Strand Theatre, Clinton, Ma. The Strand Theatre, 58 High Street...1/2 a mile from Bigelow Mills. Offers a unique twist in movie entertainment. The Strand Theatre offers a casual light meal and drink while watching a current motion picture, state-of-the-art sound and service, with on one of the largest screens in Worcester County. Central Park, Clinton, Ma. Cenral Park, 3/4 of a mile from Bigelow Mills. Donated by Horatio N. Bigelow in 1852. The four-acre lot contains two war monuments. One for Clinton residents who served in the Spanish-American War and the other, a Civil War monument. A sundial can be found on the south side and a water fountain on the north side of the park.
Clinton Town Hall Town Hall, 242 Church St. 3/4 of a mile from Bigelow Mills. Built in 1909, it is Clinton's second town hall. The first was destroyed by fire at the turn of the century. In 1977, former President Jimmy Carter led a meeting when he visited the town. A commissioned statue of Abe Lincoln stands in the grande foyer.
Historical Society, Clinton, Ma. Historical Society, 195 Union Street. 3/4 of a mile from Bigelow Mills. Built in 1859, the building first served as Horatio Bigelow's private office. Since 1894 the newly incorporated Clinton Historical Society. The building has served as the Second District Court of Eastern Worcester County from 1886 to 1972, and the Clinton Police Station.
Bigelow Library, Clinton, Ma. Bigelow Free Public Library, 54 Walnut St., 3/4 of a mile from Bigelow Mills. Built in 1902, The existing library grew out of what was once the Bigelow Mechanics Institute, a private club where only men could gather to talk or read. In 1873 the Institute was dissolved and the Library Association was formed.
Nypro, Clinton, Ma. Nypro, 101 Union St. Nypro's flagship operation and the largest facility in North America. As Nypro's original operation will soon be celebrating it's 50th year in the industry. The facility has over 85 molding machines ranging in size from 60 to 500 tons. Nypros' web site
Clinton Savings Bank. Clinton Savings Bank, 200 Church Street - Built in 1929. Banking history in Clinton can be traced back to when there was only one bank. Clinton Savings Bank was originally located at Lancaster Mills, and then at 195 Union Street. In 1929 demand for more space led to the construction of the building.
